With summer approaching, I have been on the lookout for activities that I can do with all three of my kids that does not involve electronics.  We have family vacations booked, camps scheduled, and plans to go to the local beach, but we need some "inside" activities too.  It was starting to feel daunting to find something that all of my kids could do together given that my youngest is 4 and my oldest is 9.... but then I found Kid Wonder Box subscription boxes!

Now.... we have been through a few subscription boxes so I was a little leery, but decided to give it a try - especially since the April theme was Astronauts!  How could a former NASA girl resist??  Plus my kids are all space nuts!  Our boxes came via mail and upon opening, I was immediately impressed.  Each box holds five crafts and activities - FIVE!  The crafts also indicate the level of messiness, difficulty, and time involved - so you can look these over and plan them out.  With five crafts and activities - your box will last awhile, meaning this is not a "open the box and you are done in one seating" type thing.  You can really stretch your theme over the month.  The crafts in my box truly encouraged the imagination with dress up and finger play, so instead of making the craft and being done the kids were able to continue to play with what they had made.  There was also a wonderful activity book with mazes, seek and finds, etc.

I also loved that the crafts were easy enough for my four year old (many of the parts were felt stickers), yet engaging enough for my older two to be creative..

The part that I really loved?  Kid Wonder boxes include EVERYTHING that you need for the craft - right down to the two "messy" crafts included an apron and mess mat right in their bags - that's right 2 aprons and 2 mess mats per kid - because remember, you probably won't be doing all of these crafts in one day.

Kid Wonder Boxes currently offers month to month or 3, 6, or 12 month prepay subscriptions for their Little Dreamers Box which is aimed at children 3-6 (this is the one we did and honestly even my nine year old daughter loved it).  Soon however, there will be a Big Adventurers box for ages 5-7 which will be an adventure through history and a Junior Explorers box aimed at kids 7-10 focusing on exploring the World.  There are also sibling boxes available if you have more than one child and would like a second set of craft materials in the same box!  And - if you see a theme that you missed out on (I know you are jealous of my Astronaut box), you are able to purchase them on the Kid Wonder box website at a discounted rate while supplies last.

Ready to give it a try?  For a limited time, use discount code MACARONI40 at checkout for 40% off!  I'm a little giddy to find out what next month's theme is!

I received complimentary craft boxes for my children to facilitate this review.  All opinions are my own.
