A Local Farm that is a True Blessing to Our Community

Third Way Farm in Havre de Grace

My kids are obsessed with animals, and I love fresh and local produce! A visit to a local farm is just what we needed. Have you heard of Third Way Farm in Havre de Grace? We had a wonderful afternoon there learning and visiting!

As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by Tommy, the friendly owner, who provided us with a warm welcome. Stepping onto the farm, we were greeted by a breathtaking scene of vibrant colors, a testament to the thriving crops lovingly tended by their fabulous staff. Our adventure began right at the farm's entrance, where Tommy led us through the rows of crop, sharing fascinating insights into their regenerative farming techniques. He spoke with such passion about their commitment to no-till farming, highlighting how it nurtures soil health and restores ecosystems. It was truly inspiring.

One of the highlights for my kids was the "taste test" of fresh produce. Of Course! They of course loved the strawberries and even tried KALE! They would have never done that if it was sitting on their plate at home.

The best part for my kids was when we delved deeper into the farm, meeting its adorable animal residents. From grass-fed cows to playful piglets, the farm was full of energy. My kids were in heaven, getting to interact with the animals up close; checking out the little lamb, trying to get up close and personal with the cows, and running around with a ton of chickens.

Throughout the tour, Tommy's patience and kindness was much appreciated, making the experience all the more special for my littles. And as we reluctantly said goodbye to the animals, we were greeted by Michelle, who was busy creating stunning flower arrangements for the Barn Store and farmers' market. We learned more about Third Way Farm's dedication to community engagement and sustainability. The Barn Store, with its array of fresh produce, meats, eggs, and flowers, is a true treasure trove, inviting locals to support sustainable agriculture and savor the flavors of the land. Their Barn Store is open Tuesdays & Fridays from 3pm-6pm. Third Way Farm is a CSA stop and they are also at the Havre de Grace Farmers Market on Saturdays.

And it doesn't stop there! Third Way Farm welcomes visitors with open arms, offering tours, field trips, and even animal parties. It's all about education, stewardship, and building a sense of community. In a world where the connection to the land is often overlooked, places like Third Way Farm inspire us to remember the importance of agriculture. So, why not swing by the Barn Store and discover the wonders that await? Check out their website to schedule a tour or party. Trust me, it's an experience you and your family will love.
