A Spooktacular Halloween Walkthrough in Jarrettsville

Our second year experiencing the Halloween magic!

For the second consecutive year, a charming home in Jarrettsville located at 2013 Twin Lakes Drive, has transformed its yard into a Halloween wonderland, and we couldn’t be more excited to experience it again. Open nightly until Halloween, this interactive walkthrough promises thrills, chills, and delightful surprises at every turn.

We discovered this local gem last year and were instantly captivated by the imaginative decorations. This year, the homeowners, Dominic and Janeann Walsh, have taken it up a notch by adding a delightful "not-so-spooky" area for younger children, ensuring that even the tiniest trick-or-treaters can enjoy the magic.

A Passionate Journey

Janeann and her husband Dominic have been Halloween enthusiasts for many years, but their journey really began with just a few simple decorations. "It all started about seven or eight years ago with some fun Halloween pieces," Janeann shared with us. As they began creating DIY decorations, including clever designs made from plastic trash bags, their passion for Halloween grew.

When their children moved out and they considered downsizing, Janeann started selling many of their Halloween decorations. "One neighbor even bought my homemade witches," she recalled. But everything changed when they welcomed their granddaughter, who adores all things spooky. "She loves Halloween and isn’t scared, so two years ago, we decided to go a little bigger," they said.

Creating a Community Experience

The idea for the walkthrough came from a desire to keep kids safe while enjoying the decorations. "We noticed that a lot of kids were running around our yard, and we were worried someone might trip," they explained. Thus, the walkthrough was born in 2023, providing a more organized way for visitors to experience the display.

This Halloween tradition grew even more with the support of their next-door neighbors, Amy and Chris Benson. Together, they created a toddler-friendly area nestled between their homes, enhancing the experience for families with little ones.

A Spooky Yet Safe Adventure

As we strolled through the enchanting decorations, we encountered an array of creepy creatures and festive frights, each corner designed to inspire awe and wonder. The atmosphere was filled with spooky vibes, making it a Halloween experience like no other. We loved the surprises at every turn, creating lasting memories for our family.

While the walkthrough is FREE to the public, the homeowners graciously accept donations to help cause. This year any family that would like to make a donation, it will be going to the Erin Levitas Foundation. Their commitment to community spirit and Halloween joy is evident, making this display a beloved local treasure.
